Giant Pandas
In May 2008, the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS), which owns Edinburgh Zoo and Highland Wildlife Park, announced their intention to bring a breeding pair of giant pandas to Scotland.
This followed a visit to China where our Chief Executive and the Head of Animals, Education and Conservation for RZSS, met with Chinese Government officials and signed a Letter of Intent. This demonstrates a serious commitment to bringing giant pandas to Scotland and we hope to have them here in the near future.
