Animal with no Adopters
Animal Adoption - A Wild Gift Idea!
Even though hundreds of people adopt our animals every year, some species find themselves unfortunately left out! Some of the animals in our care may not have the size and presence of the rhino, the beauty of a tiger or the cuteness of a penguin, but in a world of equality, all animals like humans have their own distinct attributes.
Edinburgh Zoo • no adopters
bleeding heart dove, blue-crowned laughing thrush, blue-faced honeyeater, Cochin Chinese red jungle fowl, hammerkop, laughing kookaburra, Nicobar pigeon, rhinocerous iguana & white-naped crane
Highland Wildlife Park • no adopters
Himalayan monal, Himalayan snowcock, mouflon & yak
Edinburgh Zoo • one adopter
addax, Azara's agouti, black stork, Chiloe wigeon, chevrotain, drill, gelada baboon, hyrax, Japanese serow, Malayan greater argus, North American tree porcupine, nyala, ocellated turkey, purple-faced langur, red-legged seriema, Stanley's crane, striped skunk, swamp wallaby, thick-billed parrot, violet turaco, vulturine guinea fowl & white-lipped deer.

Afghan urial, bharal, bukhara deer & Himalayan tahr
Edinburgh Zoo • two adopters
Aloatran gentle lemur, Bali starling, common raven, crested pigeon, European souslik*, hog deer, long-nosed potoroo, marabou stork, Patagonian sea lion, Socorro dove, Victoria crowned pigeon & Waldrapp ibis
*hibernate for six months
