Our Projects

Species restoration

Strategic aim: Working with a broad range of partners, make full use of the Society’s skills and resources to conserve and restore biodiversity and natural habitats around the world.

At RZSS, we believe it is our responsibility to help tackle conservation issues both home and abroad. We aim to build on the success of established projects – such as the Scottish Beaver Trial and recovery of the Scottish wildcat – and contribute to many more conservation issues through our expertise in wildlife management, captive breeding, genetic analysis and veterinary health. Working in collaboration with partners in over 20 countries worldwide, we seek to maximise the conservation impact of these projects through coordination with our parks and education programmes.
