New female snow leopard arrives at Highland Wildlife Park
Posted 1 May 2025

A new female snow leopard has arrived at the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland’s (RZSS) Highland Wildlife Park with hopes she will help produce a future generation of a species which is becoming increasingly rare.
Pari, one year and nine months old, joins the wildlife conservation charity’s resident male, Koshi, after arriving from Stuttgart’s Wilhelma Zoo.
Found in some of the harshest climates in the world, the snow leopard’s natural camouflage which renders them almost invisible in their surroundings, has earned them the nickname “ghost of the mountains.” There are thought to be only between 2,500 - 6,500 individuals remaining in the wild.
