Celebratory giving

Honour and celebrate the life of a loved one by donating to a cause close to their heart.

Giving to a charity that you or your loved ones care about can provide comfort and joy for many commemorative occasions. Here at the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland, there are opportunities to celebrate a loved one, special event or your own love of animals. 

Perhaps you are passionate about wildlife conservation or inspiring the next generation to protect the natural world. Maybe you have fond memories of Edinburgh Zoo or Highland Wildlife Park and would like to have your own dedicated space there. 

You will be safe in the knowledge that a gift in memory or celebration will have a lasting impact for years to come, protecting wildlife in Scotland and around the world.

Memorial benches

You can dedicate at both Edinburgh Zoo and Highland Wildlife Park. Memorial benches enable you to mark the life of your loved one and create a special space that will be much appreciated by thousands of visitors each year.

Donation: £3,500 for 6ft bench

Includes:

  • Plaque
  • Inscription
  • Installation
  • Maintenance for 10 years
  • Membership of RZSS for one year

Giraffe House decorations

You can celebrate a loved one with a dedication at the giraffe house at Edinburgh Zoo. Standing out on the beautiful savannah art wall in the giraffe house, your lasting gift will be enjoyed for years to come. 

Bird decoration donation: £500

Includes:

  • Short inscription
  • Maintenance for five years

Collection instead of flowers

You can arrange a collection at the funeral of your loved one in lieu of flowers which can then be donated to RZSS. Some choose to set up dedicated in memoriam fundraising pages online – you can do so via JustGiving.
