Board Member Nominations 2017
Board members are elected at the Society’s Annual General Meeting and this year’s AGM will be held on Wednesday 24 May.
Members who wish to nominate one or more individuals as a board member of the Society can obtain nomination forms via the links below or by contacting Gillian Wishart (email email@example.com or call 0131 314 0302).
Please note that an individual member may not nominate him or herself for nomination as a board member.
Completed forms should be returned to Gillian by 12 noon on Friday 14 April for forwarding to Sandy Batho, Chair of the Nominations & Remuneration Committee. Please confirm with the people being nominated that they are happy for their names to go forward.
To complement the expertise of current Board Members, we would be particularly interested to receive nominations of Society members with expertise in (amongst other things) conservation, tourism, veterinary skills or zoology.
The duties and responsibilities of a board member of the Society are substantial and it is recommended that before agreeing to nomination, potential candidates read the board member role description, which is also available from Gillian Wishart and on the Members’ Portal.
Individuals who wish to go forward for election will be asked to submit a biography of 250 words and an accompanying statement of up to 75 words, highlighting what they would bring to the board.
