Animals celebrate Valentine’s Day at Highland Wildlife Park

14/02/2023 in Highland Wildlife Park

The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS) has shared photos of animals celebrating the season of love at Highland Wildlife Park.

Keepers at the wildlife conservation charity treated Arctic fox pair, Jack and Sarah, and polar bear cub, Brodie, to some delicious heart-shaped ice-pop enrichment and some of their other favourite snacks including carrots, apples, hot dogs and peanut butter. Enrichment, like different sights, smells and experiences, is an important part of the animals’ daily care, encouraging them to be more active and improving their mental and physical wellbeing.

All the animals at Highland Wildlife Park play an important role in engaging thousands of visitors each year so they can learn about the threats animals face in the wild and the action they can take to help. RZSS has pledged to create deeper connections with nature for more than a million people by 2030 as part of their mission to inspire people to protect, value and love nature.
