AGM 2024
We are delighted to invite you to join us for this year's Annual General Meeting (AGM) at 6:30pm on Wednesday 5 June 2024.
This year our AGM will be held in person at Edinburgh Zoo and online to allow as many members as possible to engage with us.
You must register in advance to attend. Please use the following form to register your attendance both online or in person.
Once your details have been submitted, if attending online we will forward the joining link and instructions no later than one week in advance of the meeting.
2024-25 board vacancies
Members who wish to stand for election to the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland board of trustees at the AGM must be nominated by a fellow member. Please note that members may not nominate themselves for election.
To complement the skillsets of current board members, we would be particularly interested to receive nominations for members with:
• Sustainability, media relations, fundraising and digital technology/social media expertise
• Relevant experience as an employee or trustee of another tourism, business or wildlife/conservation organisation.
Individuals who wish to go forward for election must submit a biography of up to 250 words and an accompanying statement of no more than 75 words highlighting the skills and experience they would bring to the board. Nominees will be invited to talk to the members at the AGM for three minutes about the value they can bring to RZSS.
Successful candidates will also be required to undertake a Basic Disclosure (Scotland) check and an identification check, with their election being confirmed upon satisfactory completion of this process. RZSS will advise elected members on how to undergo these checks and reimburse any expenses incurred.
Completed forms should be returned to Dee Winfield via agm2024@rzss.org.uk or to Dee Winfield, Royal Zoological Society of Scotland, 134 Corstorphine Road, EH12 6TS, by 12 noon on Wednesday 1 May and will be forwarded to the RZSS Nominations and Remuneration Committee for review.
2024 AGM resolutions
Members wishing to raise matters of policy or issues of concern can submit motions for discussion at the AGM. Any motions will be considered by the board.
Motions must be received in writing by 12 noon on Wednesday 1 May and can be sent via post to RZSS Chair, c/o Dee Winfield, Royal Zoological Society of Scotland, Edinburgh Zoo, 134 Corstorphine Road, Edinburgh EH12 6TS or by email to agm2024@rzss.org.uk.
